Missouri Synod Symbol
Trinity Lutheran Church is a member of the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
The congregation traces it's beginning to 1864 when a small group gathered together in Auburn for worship and service to the Lord. They formally organized the congregation in 1871 and built the first building for their worship service in 1873. This first sanctuary for the congregation was located at 311 W. 12th Street and would serve the congr egation until 1959.
In the early years, pastors from Avilla were instrumental in the formation of the congregation. As the congregation grew, it began to have it's own resident pastor, beginning in 1892. In 1959, the congregation relocated to the north side of Auburn and constructed a modern A-frame Sanctuary. This is it's present location.
Throughout the years, the Lord has blessed the congregation in it's witness of God's Word and Sacraments. The congregation is strong in its confession of the doctrine and teachings of the Scriptures and faithful in it's practice.
